Update on Cliff Bay Development – Developers making “significant revisions” to their plan

It appears our individual actions and those of the MBPOA and the MLA regarding the Cliff Bay Development Proposal are making a difference.

The attached letter obtained from the Town was sent by Cliff Bay Development Inc. to the Mayor and Councillors.

The letter says the developers are making significant revisions to their development proposal.

These revisions are expected to be completed over the next several months and posted to their website (cliff-bay.ca) in late fall of 2026 or early 2027.

At that time, the developers will obtain further public input and prepare a revised proposal and MZO for submission to the Town and then to the Province.

MBPOA and the MLA have been jointly funding a government relations firm Northwell to help us establish and maintain connections with Ontario Government politicians and their political staff to ensure they understand our concerns about the original Cliff Bay proposal.

The MBPOA Board thanks you for your generous donations which have enabled us to pay our 50% share of the cost of these consultants. It is clear these efforts are having an impact.

MBPOA and MLA need to maintain the momentum to ensure the development of the Cliff Bay lands is appropriate for Muskoka Bay.

This will require MBPOA to continue funding their 50% share of Northwell. You will be hearing soon about the details of a fundraising cruise being planned on the Wenonah II for Friday September 4th.

We will be asking you to purchase tickets for this cruise to help us carry on with this important advocacy.

Thanks for your continuing support to help save Muskoka Bay.
