Muskoka Bay is at immediate risk of having an excessive development proposal approved by the Town and Province for Cliff Bay. Decisions that could irreversibly transform Muskoka Bay will soon be made by the Town and the Provincial Government. Your continuing financial support for our advocacy is critical to protect Muskoka Bay, your property value, and your lifestyle.
As a result of fundraising requests to-date, your donations total approximately $23,000 against our ultimate goal of $50,000. More than 40% of Muskoka Bay Property Owners Association members have donated. Several have donated more than $1,000 and several have donated more than once. We are using your donations to pay for government relations consultants to help us get access to government officials to represent your interests.

Here is what the Developers are currently doing
- The developers are preparing background reports on infrastructure impacts of the development along with a revised development proposal using feedback they have received. Based upon what they have told us, we anticipate only minor revisions to their development proposal. The Developers will be posting these materials on their website and submitting them to the Town and the Province for approval within the next few months.
- The Developers are looking for a Town resolution of support to enable the required Provincial approval.
Here is what the Muskoka Bay Property Owners Association (MBPOA) and the Muskoka Lakes Association (MLA) are doing:
- Discussing our concerns with Provincial politicians and staff to get them to make the right decisions.
- Discussing our concerns with Muskoka District politicians and staff to encourage them to get involved regarding infrastructure reviews.
- Attempting to get investigative reporters interested in writing articles.
- Leading up to the fall municipal elections, focusing on getting the current Gravenhurst politicians to pass a resolution that requires appropriate modifications to the Developer’s proposal.
